I received my PhD (2000) in Statistical Pattern Recognition and Data Mining from the University of Texas at Austin (EcE) and Masters (1998) in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence also from UT-Austin (Computer Science) and B.Tech. (1995) in Computer Science and Engg. from Institute of Tech. BHU, India. I joined Yahoo! Labs, Bangalore, in July 2008. Prior to this, I was at Fair Isaac Research from 2000 to 2008 working in text mining, computer vision, retail analytics, fraud analytics, bio-informatics, visualization, and expert systems. At Yahoo! Labs, Bangalore, we are dreaming up ways to improve the Yahoo!'s image search as well as web search engines. My areas of interest are: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Mining and Statistical Pattern Recognition, Reinforcement Learning, Text Mining / Computational Linguistics, Computer Vision and Image Understanding, Retail Data Mining, Risk Analytics and Fraud detection technologies, Signal and Image Processing, Time Series Analysis, Graph Theory, Information Theory, and Game Theory.
