I have finished my Ph.D. studies in 1999, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (PUC-Rio). Since then I held research engineering positions at IBM Almaden Research Center and Yahoo! Labs. My main areas of interest in the last years are: Content Retrieval, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Cognitive Computing.
