Jason is a Senior Scientist at Yahoo! Labs working on designing and building Yahoo!'s contextual and display advertising platforms. Prior to Yahoo!, Jason was a Member of Technical Staff at Kosmix, where he built a real-time news and blog search engine and pubsub system, built a web-scale indexer and search engine for vertical search, built an automatic search result quality evaluation system, and built a distributed job scheduling and management system. Jason also worked as a Research Staff Member at the IBM Almaden Research Center where he worked on high performance, web-scale text indexing and searching and enterprise search engines, as well as a web-scale high performance streaming data store for text mining applications. Jason holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
