Before joining Yahoo! Labs in 2008, Wei Chu was an associate research scientist of CCLS, Columbia University. Previously, he was a senior postdoctoral research fellow of the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit, University College London, working with Zoubin Ghahramani and David L. Wild on Machine Learning and Bioinformatics. He received Ph.D. degree at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore, under the joint guidance of S. Sathiya Keerthi and Chong Jin Ong. He has published more than 30 scientific papers in leading conferences (such as ICML, NIPS, AISTATS) and journals, and extensively served as reviewer or commitee member in machine learning community.
