Larry is a member of query intent modeling group. His research interests are in query intent determination/disambiguation and intent-based document selection. Before he joined Yahoo! lab, he worked at a vertical search company using open source framework such as Lucene, Nutch, Jena, and protege. He also held research and development positions at an image search company and electronic design automation company before. He received his Ph.D. from University of California, Santa Barbara.
