I have been working at Yahoo since 2003 on spellchecking of web search queries ("Did you mean: ....?"). Prior to joining Yahoo I have worked at a variety of Silicon Valley companies including giants Hewlet-Packard and Apple, as well as startups Prismedia, GO and Teknowledge. The most interesting work was on handwriting recognition at GO and Apple. I began my career teaching mathematics at Carleton and St. Olaf colleges in Minnesota. I have a Ph.D. in Logic and Methodology of Science (mathematical logic) from U.C. Berkeley, and a B.A. in Mathematics from Reed College.
